If you’re working at one of our campsites in Tuscany this summer, you’re in for an absolute treat. Tuscany is packed with hidden gems! Think medieval cities, beautiful viewpoints, amazing food, white sandy beaches, and so much culture.
So if you’ve got a day off and access to a car (or a friend with one!), here’s one of our favorite little road trips. It’s got the perfect mix of chill, culture, and classic Italy.
This medieval old city is absolutely stunning. It was even a filming location for one of the Twilight movies, so if you’re feeling dramatic, this is your moment.
Expect winding stone streets, beautiful views, and charming little shops. You’ll find local truffle everything here from cheese, oil to paninis you name it, just make sure you try it! And obviously, grab a gelato while you wander, you are in Italy.
Don’t miss: The Roman theatre, the old fortress walls, and those surprise viewpoints around every corner.
This city is seriously underrated. It’s peaceful, pretty, and easy to explore. One of the coolest things? The massive city walls that completely surround it, and yes, you can walk or cycle on top of them.
Wander through the narrow streets, stop for a coffee in one of the piazzas, and keep your eyes peeled for the beautiful cathedral!
Pro tip: Climb one of the towers for a view that’s absolutely worth the leg burn.
You can’t come to Tuscany without swinging by the Leaning Tower of Pisa. It’s iconic for a reason.
Get as creative as you can with your photo! Have fun and bask in your iconic Italian moment.
After all this exploring, eating and photo snapping, it’s finally time to chill. Bianca Spiaggia is unreal. The sand is so white it looks fake, and the water is an insane turquoise-blue. It honestly feels like you’ve left Italy and somehow ended up in the Caribbean.
Bring a towel, some snacks, and park yourself there until sunset. It has one of the most beautiful sunsets over the horizon, one of those you’ll remember forever.
There you have it, a perfect little day trip around Tuscany. Whether you’re into old cities, beach hangs, or just want to eat all the food that Tuscany has to offer, this route has a bit of everything.
If you check out any of these spots (or discover your own hidden gems), let us know! We’re always looking for new places to explore! And don’t forget to tag @applyfortourism!
